Project Description

Our task was to use manufacturing processes such as thermoforming and injection molding in oder to design and produce at least 50 copies of a yo-yo. Using the cad model of the two outer halves of the yoyo I created the models of the mold halves for injection molding. From there we used CNC machining to make the physical molds out of aluminum. Working together with the other part teams we refined our injection molding process to make sure that our parts would have the interference required for press fitting.
